Project “Transforming Losers into Winners”
Execution time: 2014. 08. – 2015 . 08.
Modern-day education is the basic key to successful and valuable life of human-being. Taking into
account principles of lifelong learning it should be mentioned that non-formal learning might be the
main tool to integrate social excluded people into the labour market. Social excluded people, such as
immigrants, people with disabilities, long-term unemployed people, lonely mothers, pre-retirees, people
living in rural areas and youth must have an opportunity to gain necessary skills and experience which
will be useful in getting a job (or to become well-qualified workers). On the other hand, none of this will
happen without pedagogical staff.
We, as teachers, are going to travel around Northern Europe (Lithuania, Latvia, Sweden, Iceland) and
analyse each country’s legal base, social system, methods of non formal adult education and best
tools to integrate various people from social exclusion groups into labor market. Working together
with partners – experts we will share our experiences and good practices among each other. We do
believe that experience gained in this project can improve skills of pedagogical staff to empower socially
excluded people and bring the benefit to their social and economical life.
